this week’s theme is buck-tick, if you haven’t guessed. sakurai atsushi has a really difficult voice to put on, to me anyway. gackt’s vibrato is just some crazy shit that wobbles on and on, whereas sakurai’s… is more subtle and ingrained. how do i explain? maybe i need an adam’s apple for that kind of stuff.
i practically tripped myself up in my mary janes on the way to the train station, and then missed the train, so by the time i got to the theatre, they had already skipped the unusually peachy looking johnny depp before he was shipped off to that convict hell named australia. say in the event that sweeney todd was not an unhappy chappie intent on revenge in the motherland, some aussie bloke would one day like to claim a serial killer for his lineage. (since i am chinese, the best i can do is pretend that maybe some general turned god who shares my surname might be related to me.)
i do not dislike musicals, nor tim burton creations, might be squeamish but can adapt, and depp has grown on me in his old(er) age, so i can agree with the consensus. the broadway musical was three hours long? at least the film itself was only two, as it would wander off during songs, but this is the fault of the source material i think, and why ‘broadway’ does have some negative connotations. as does showboating, thank goodness for actors who sing, because i don’t want to hear the clear peals of a soprano while we’re talking about human meat pies.

sweeney todd and sakurai atsushi (buck-tick) are both dark horses, no? though i have to qualify again, atsushi mostly sneers and acts like a dork when not killing girls with his onstage presence.
meanwhile, atsushi is none the happy about the comparisons of his aging self to severus snape, but it’s all there, the greasy black hair, long dark clothing…
February 23rd, 2008 lazy pt2
okay, so i lied - there is no melbourne pt2 of pictures, though a number of these half frames were taken there.
or they could have been taken anywhere, you wouldn’t be able to pick the difference. if you noticed the colour palette, that’s the fault of the parade100. like i’ve probably said before, my olympus pen d likes to do weird things to colours depending on the exposure i’ve set, but it really goes all the way with this one. it’s not crossprocessed at all!
but on the other hand, some pictures don’t look quite so insane. at first i thought the developing machine might be having a fight with my film by overcompensating for colours and exposure automatically, but most of the recent half frame pictures have come from the same lab and seem to be relatively unadjusted past pushing brightness for underexposed shots.
what do i care anyway. randomness is better than calculation. if i take many pictures, then the probability of one of them turning out well increases?
like its relation rainbow7, it veers towards blues and greens, and some handling of reds. i showed the pictures to my parents, who said, “what happened to the colour?” in a somewhat disparaging way. well, BLUE has happened to it… (and some of my pictures are comparable colourwise to other people’s end results)
where on earth does tokyo gratzy find this stuff to rebadge? (between them and superheadz, they are on par with the marketing for lomo, bringing you dug up things from russia and beyond)
i like it more the more i look at it. make me stop already!
