you got to the bottom! here is a picture of my room as a reward.


the konica recorder, or aa35 as is known in other parts, is an autofocus half frame from the 80s (1984?). i’m not sure why i bid so hard for it on ebay, and mine is rather beat up too. for all its over/underexposures, it can produce some interesting results. the blowout in light/shadow can be unexpected, like the picture of the clouds over the train station.


it’s finicky about available light, but when the warning lights tell you to use flash, it might actually be a good idea to listen. slowest shutter speed is only 1/60.


i used iso 400 film with it this time - maybe i’ll try something lower next time. plus this roll is dated between late winter and early summer, so developing a half frame roll can really become like a mini diary…


i am resisting the urge to collect every half frame camera available in history.
